RezEd

Take this:
On the left, the view of my avatar from my laptop (main client download)
On the right, the view of my avatar by those in RC (picture taken by ZeroOne Paz at the Bluff. See more pictures at http://www.flickr.com/photos/sreljic/

I am really excited by this, because now, my question is ...what other interpretations of art or other creations can be accessed through the different views provided by the different SL download? The multidimensional SL.....not just a 3D virtual world, but a 3D virtual world with alternative realities to it as well.....how mind blowing!!!

Release Candidate. The RC8 introduced SL lipsync. The latest does not. Too bad. If you are interested in downloading RC, go to http://secondlife.com/support/downloads.php

The current optional RC download is RC14. You can also link to its download location when you are about to log in SL:

Hi Sabine,

My RC viewer still has lipsync. I just downloaded

Second Life 1.20.14 (92115) Jul 14 2008 15:20:29 (Second Life Release Candidate)

I think all of my recent RC viewers has had it.

A lot of artists / sim developers have taken advantage of new features in the clients such as glow. Take a look at Elros' or Glyph Graves work. Go to Lash Xevious' La Reve sim and Baron Grayson's main sim and go down to the sea and into the caves to see this to great effect. There are lots of other spaces that take effect on new features. Lot s other great sims to visit ... NMC has a couple of sims dedicated to art ... I just can't remember the names of DanCoyote's one off hand.

Indeed. When I talked to Glyph yesterday about this, he joked about providing 2 pieces of art for the price of one. I will make sure to visit Elros, Lash Xevious and Baron Grayson's works. Thanks for naming a few. I have not heard of them. DanCoyote is definitely to guru in audio/media art in SL.

...and what's really interesting about the image is that there are two things going on: (1) interpretive -- hair colour, shading etc, and (2) factual -- Is she drinking coffee or not?
