Jeremy, The group is hopping? Any thoughts on creating a new discussion topic based on issues folks have raised? Perhaps one for people to introduce their work, rather than in the comments? Just throwing ideas out there...

Hi, I am really excited to hear about Tracy Rebe's experience with her science class and would love to share with her and others, our experiences running similar programs using Active Worlds and even older technologies like VRML2. (dating myself). Cheers,
Margaret

Hi, I am interested in teaching and learning via VW. I am teaching Linguistics to prospective language teachers at Istanbul University, Turkey. I am also planning to do my PhD on promoting learner autonomy and lifelong learning through distance education tools.

I'm interested in SL for developing games (and as a platform for AI - which can sometimes be combined). I'm looking into starting a project for 'game within a game' development tools. I.e. providing the building blocks for other to develop game ideas easily.

Hello all
My deepest interest is in how to use SL, or other immersive environments, to promote engagement and connectivity with content and among participants.

I'm looking for examples of virtual environments that promote/support literacy, emphasis on reading and writing. Can anyone point me towards some?

Thanks!

I work at a Hotel/Tourism School in Hong Kong. We have started using SL and testing with some courses, still finding our feet, but teachers now getting involved. Looking at how to create learning games that make SL more interesting to use for students.

Hi - I am an Education Development Adviser at Uni of Southampton and I am really trying to encourage the use of virtual worlds (especially Second Life) for education. I hope this group can provide me with some innovative ideas for doing this :)
