Location: Kansas State University/ In-World SL
Event Type: University, Course
Organized By: Kansas State University
Latest Activity: Jan 13
This course will appeal to educators who want to explore new technologies to create activities that will engage students in inquiry-based learning, and to librarians, media specialists, and those who support faculty in these efforts. Multi-user online virtual learning environments, specifically Second Life, are examined as a platform for inquiry-based immersive learning (IL). Immersive learning uses virtual environments to supply information and to engage student cognitive, affective, and psycho-motor skills in more ways than do traditional lecture-based courses. This is a semester-long course, running from January 15 - May 8, 2009.
